His Story
From Educator to Newport's Premier Fitness Expert
Brian Wiefering, full-time owner of WieFit (also known as WieFit Nutrition, Group Fitness, and Personal Training), has spent his career working with clients ranging from professional athletes and physique competitors to people who simply want to improve their physique and live a healthier life.
Brian launched the WieFit Wellness Program in 2010 and works with many companies and institutions including KHL, Seneco, Dunnhumby, Celanese, and the City of Erlanger - helping these organizations increase work productivity by educating employees on healthy eating and exercise.
Brian was previously a High School Teacher at Highlands High School, where he taught Exercise Science and Sports Medicine and coached the women's soccer teams for 8 years. Before founding WieFit full-time in 2007, he served 7 years with Genetica DNA Laboratories and 6 years as Major Accounts Director at CBLD, a subsidiary of Cincinnati Bell.
In 2009, Brian moved WieFit Nutrition from his home to a full-time fitness studio at 846 Monmouth Street in Newport, Kentucky. By 2011, he expanded by purchasing the adjacent facility, opening the wall between the two buildings to create a 5,200 square-foot training space. This expansion allowed Brian to train full teams, add large group fitness classes, and meet the growing demand for athletic training in the Northern Kentucky and Cincinnati area.
In 2006, Brian was ranked as one of the "top 20 lifetime natural/drug-tested bodybuilders in the world" and plays an active role in seeking to clean up the use of anabolic steroids and growth hormone in sports. Drug-free training is a staple of his presentations to athletes from junior high through the professional level.
Brian specializes in presenting the basic science of how food works within your body into a format that is easy to understand, entertaining, and most of all useful. His extensive knowledge of maximizing strength and conditioning through the power of food and specialized training has allowed him to work one-on-one with many top NFL athletes and be called upon by numerous NCAA Division 1 and professional strength coaches.
Brian graduated from Northern Kentucky University in 1996 with his Bachelor's of Science Degree. He is a lifelong resident of Fort Thomas, Kentucky, and has four wonderful daughters.
